Laika Studios is creating not only some of the best animated movies of all time but some of the best movies of all time. Their unique blend of 3D technology, stop animation, and clear love for all of their projects has made them a studio to watch. Their main problem is they can't seem to hit big when it comes to the box office. It's such a shame, because their productions are so good.

New Video Looks At The Science And Art Of Laika Studios

Laika hasn't announced their next movie yet, but the studio has released a new video going behind the scenes. They talk about their work with stop motion and how they aren't afraid to use technology to help. However, they do emphasize that try use practical models as much as possible. We get to see the giant eyes from Kubo and the Two Strings, and the video combines before and after shots from the studio's various movies.

If you haven't checked out Laika Studios, they have made four feature films, and all of them are fantastic: Coraline, ParaNorman, The Boxtrolls, and Kubo and the Two Strings. If you're a fan of animation and stop motion animation in particular, then these four movies are must-sees.
