Patrick Stewart's Blunt Talk Muted After Two Seasons

blunt-talk-patrick-stewart-adrian-scarboroughThe idea of Blunt Talk was unique. "A British newscaster moves to Los Angeles with his alcoholic manservant and the baggage of several failed marriages to host a sanctimonious talk show." And casting Patrick Stewart and Adrian Scarborough was brilliant. But Starz has pulled the plug on the series created by Seth McFarlane and Jonathan Ames after just two seasons. The series did moderately well in the ratings, the second season finale only bringing in 77,000 viewers on December 11th, not enough to get the network to extend the initial 20-episode / 2-season straight to series order it received back in 2014.

Carmi Zlotnik, President of Programming for Starz released this comment about the cancellation:

We are grateful to Jonathan and Patrick for the tirades and laughs that Walter Blunt delivered to fans with such aplomb. While Walter may not be returning to the airwaves, we are incredibly proud of the work that was done these past two seasons by our wonderful partners and collaborators on Blunt Talk, from Seth MacFarlane and our studio MRC, to our actors, writers and crew. It was a very special show with a heartfelt message. It was an honor serving you, Major.
