Tomb Raider – A Poster, A Teaser, And A Trailer Tomorrow

We're finally getting some information about the Tomb Raider movie. The movie is six months away and everyone had apparently forgotten it was coming out. The studio has finally decided to start marketing it and today they released a poster and a teaser for the full trailer, due out tomorrow.

First we got the poster and it's a thing.

What's wrong with her neck? This seems to be yet another time that movie studios have forgotten how people stand and what the human body looks like. It's also just not a very dynamic or interesting image. It's actually quite boring for a poster and twitter users were quick to point that out.

It's also painfully obvious that the reason she has her back to the screen is so we can get yet another shot of a women's butt for a movie poster. It doesn't make her look strong, it looks ridiculous, and there's no reason she couldn't be facing the camera.

Next the official twitter account posted a fifteen second teaser trailer for the full trailer that is coming out tomorrow.

The footage looks pretty good. There are shots there that look straight out of the game but we'll have to see if this is really worth watching. The game was hours upon hours of a woman getting the crap kicked out of her and kicking back. Whether or not that will translate to a movie is still up in the air.

Summary: Lara Croft, the fiercely independent daughter of a missing adventurer, must push herself beyond her limits when she finds herself on the island where her father disappeared.

Tomb Raider, directed by Roar Uthaug, stars Alicia Vikander, Walton Goggins, Dominic West, Hannah John-Kamen, and Daniel Wu. It will be released on March 18th, 2018.
