Rockstar Spu… Er, Drake Maverick Named General Manager of WWE 205 Live, Announces New Cruiserweight Tournament

Kicking off tonight's episode of 205 Live on the WWE Network, Daniel Bryan came to the ramp with former Impact Wrestling star Rockstar Spud. Bryan announced that Spud, now going by the name Drake Maverick, will be the new general manager of 205 Live.

Bryan announced last week that WWE planned to name a general manager for the show in an attempt to restore order after the company was forced to fire the current Cruiserweight Champion, Enzo Amore, in the wake of sexual assault allegations. Maverick announced that a new champion will be crowned following a sixteen-man tournament which will culminate at WrestleMania.

Spud… er, Maverick revealed that Cedric Alexander and Gran Metalik would begin the tournament with a match on 205 Live tonight. Additionally, TJP will face Tyler Bate in an additional first round match later in tonight's episode.
