[Rumor] Laeta Kalogridis to Write 'Star Wars: Knights of the old Republic' Film
Take this with a grain of salt from Crait, but it sounds like maybe, just maybe, that possible Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic project that Kathleen Kennedy said was being looked at may have found it's writer.
According to Buzzfeed who claims exclusive knowledge of this, Laeta Kalogridis (James Cameron's Avatar, Altered Carbon) will be penning the script for a film based on the classic video game title. This is a pretty big deal, as she will be the first credited female writer on a Star Wars film since Leigh Bracket on Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back (other than, you know, Carrie Fisher's legendary rewrites).
Buzzfeed says three sources have confirmed to them that Kalogridis is working on completing the script for a possible Knights of the Old Republic trilogy.
There's no telling which of the already-announced projects this could me- the word trilogy makes us wonder if this is where Rian Johnson's set is headed, or if maybe this is that third Disney+ live-action project Bob Iger was alluding to.
We'll of course let you know what we hear from Disney and LucasFilm about this and all things Star Wars.
