Rumor Predicts Actor From Show With 42 Person Main Cast Will Join Marvel's Inhumans
Pushing the boundaries of what qualifies as news even for the Entertainment Media, podcast Meet the Movie Press is floating a new rumor that a cast member of hit show LOST is up for a role in Marvel's Inhumans.
"It is a veteran. I'm not going to say whether it is a man or a woman, it's a veteran of the television show LOST," said host Jeff Sneider via a transcription from Heroic Hollywood. "A LOST veteran, I think, is getting a big role in The Inhumans. There is like 80 people in LOST. Good luck figuring that out!"
For more on this exciting rumor technology, we spoke with DeVry University Clickbait Fellow and expert in the field of Shameless Rumormongering, Professor Thaddeus T. Puffinbottoms.
"This is a classic fishing net rumor," Puffinbottoms told Bleeding Cool, gesturing to a chart on his wall of Hedda Hopper's 11 Rumors That Always Work. "You cast in a wide net, and chances are you'll pull something up."
Puffinbottoms went on to note that, while Sneider's rumor is worded in such a way as to make it seem like he knows the name of an Inhumans cast member and he just doesn't want to be too obvious about it, he's actually chosen a show that starred so many contemporary actors that it's statistically probable that one of them will snag a part in Inhumans, just like there hasn't been a new movie or TV show in the past three years that hasn't starred someone from Game of Thrones.
"It's a numbers game," Puffinbottom continued. "It's more likely someone from LOST will be on Inhumans than not, so you just make a vague claim early on and then take credit when it happens."
With that in mind, Bleeding Cool would like to point out that we have very trustworthy information saying that someone from Law and Order: SVU will appear on Marvel's Inhumans at some point in the future. We're not going to say who it is, but trust us, we know, and when it happens, remember, you heard it here first.
