Now that Arrow is back from its midseason break we can find out what happened to Felicity Smoak and just how Oliver Queen is going to deal with it. The episode, Blood Debts is also the return of Anarky and a major change in the relationship between John Diggle and his brother Andy. But lets get to the important moments.

1 – Lets get to the big one first this time. The cliffhanger had Felicity in the street, bleeding out after an attack by Damien Darhk's men. We pick up a bit after with her still in the hospital, alive, and the doctor's preparing a surgery to try and fix her back. Oliver has not visited her because he is out hunting Darhk… and Felicity is more than okay with this. But as the episode progresses we learn that the surgery failed and she will never walk again. This leads her to two things, one is letting Oliver out of his proposal and two she wants Oliver to kill Darhk. Oliver of course says he still wants to marry her, but I think we are seeing the grounds for her sabotaging the relationship. (And lets not the fact that her former boyfriend and boss has some cool nanotech that might be used later to heal her… just saying.)

2 – Lonnie Machin / Anarky returns this episode and is on a crusade to kill Darhk. But he's getting in the way of Oliver killing Darhk so the team tries to take him down. We find out that he's become a bit obsessed with Speedy. Which is probably a good thing as he has more than one chance to kill her but doesn't. And it seems that Speedy no longer has that killer instinct since her encounter previously with Darhk. Meaning she could be cured of the Lazarus Pit side effect but will that make her a danger to the team?

3 – With Felicity in the hospital and paralyzed, Oliver is questioning what he is doing as the Green Arrow. Not the fact that he's trying to save his city, but the fact he's been doing it as a hero and symbol and not as the vigilante that he started as. But with his rage he goes back to some of his old tactics and this puts him in conflict with Laurel Lance when it comes to holding and torturing Anarky for information. He is pushing himself and those around him are trying to keep him in control yet seem to be okay with the idea of killing Darhk. But he has changed and we see that when after Laurel turned Lonnie over to the cops, Oliver is not mad at her in the end, recognizing she was trying to help him.

4 – Andy Diggle has been sitting in a cell for a long time and John has been trying to get through to him… but now that Felicity has been shot, the gloves are off. He tries beating information out of him but to no avail. But when he opens up about Felicity, Andy tells him what he knows which in the end does help. This ends with the two of them playing cards together and having a brother moment. It would be nice to see the two of them patch things up.

5 – Anarky and Andy lead the team to Darhk's home where Anarky has Darhk's wife and daughter bound and waiting for him to return. This leads to a moment of truth for Oliver. The team rescues the wife and daughter and turn them over to the police. Oliver could have taken them and used them against Darhk as Darhk has been using those Oliver cares about against him. One Darhk learns of this, he gives Green Arrow time to spend with his loved ones before he's going to kill him. The real interesting part here is when Darhk is later alone with his wife, she tells him he should have killed Green Arrow on the spot. Tough woman.

6 – And let's not forget the island. Oliver is wounded and taken back to Baron Reiter. He is given to Conklin to do as he wishes, but while Conklin is whipping Oliver, Reiter notices the tattoo / mark John Constantine gave Oliver and it's now glowing. Reiter stops Conklin, recognizing that he needs Oliver to finish whatever mission he is on. So Constantine has already saved Oliver once at this point.

Feels like the island story has been on hold for a while, so hopefully this will kickstart whatever is going on there. I think we're going to have some major relationship hurdles for Oliver and Felicity, questions about what she is doing from Thea and a slight change in the dynamics between Darhk and Oliver on the Darhk side. Darhk is a character that lives by his own code of conduct but it's a very strict code. How he processes Team Arrow saving his family could be very interesting.

Next week brings Shadowspire into play, which is part of John's past but I believe is also involved in whatever Reiter is doing on the island…
