Star Wars: The Force Awakens To Become Highest Domestic Grossing Film
"Chewie… we're home… and we have a bundle of cash."
If all of the estimated box office numbers hold true, then Star Wars: The Force Awakens will become the highest domestic box office grosser ever. The film has already grossed $744 Million and is estimated to make another $34M to $35M today. That means by Monday the film will pass the record mark of $760.5M set by the movie Avatar in only 18 days (plus the Thursday night early showings).
The film is estimated to make $92M to $93M for its third weekend which would be hugely successful numbers for most other films opening weekends. (These numbers come from Deadline.)
Seems like the film could have been called Star Wars: The Accountants Awaken.
