Thor: Ragnarok Director Taika Waititi Breaks Down A Fight Scene
In this new video, Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi takes a scene that was released as a clip online — so no spoilers — and breaks it down. It isn't a huge scene, but it is extremely entertaining to watch Waititi detail every little part of it. He explains why he chose to frame a conversation the way he did, points out where wires are in a stunt, and laments not getting credit for designing a spaceship.
It takes a lot of moving parts to create a movie with thousands of people carrying out their own separate tasks. There are little details that we don't think of when we're watching a movie — like trying to examine why the director decided to shoot this scene this way and the little details we might not notice until the second, third, or fourth time we sit down to watch the movie.
Summary: Imprisoned, the mighty Thor finds himself in a lethal gladiatorial contest against the Hulk, his former ally. Thor must fight for survival and race against time to prevent the all-powerful Hela from destroying his home and the Asgardian civilization.
Thor: Ragnarok, directed by Taika Waititi, stars Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Cate Blanchett, Jeff Goldblum, Idris Elba, and Mark Ruffalo. Check it out in theaters now.
