Good News: Twilight Creator Stephanie Meyer Is Bringing A Supernatural Spy Thriller To Starz
Good news for fans of the vampire romance epic Twilight series; its creator, Stephanie Meyer, is bringing a new supernatural thriller to television.
Unlike Twilight, Meyer didn't write the book that The Rook is based on. That job belonged to author Daniel O'Malley. But Meyer will serve as Executive Producer, alongside Stephen Garrett (The Night Manager), who is also the showrunner. The story follows a woman named Myfanwy who is affected by amnesia and must relearn her life at a secret British agency dealing with supernatural threats, which is actually a similar origin story to Bleeding Cool's own Rumormonger-in-Chief Rich Johnston.
No word on whether supernatural creatures will sparkle in the film, but even if they outwardly don't, we'll know they're sparkling on the inside. The show has been ordered by Starz, according to a report from spice-of-life-themed Hollywood gossip site Variety, after originally developing at Hulu.
