Warner Bros Eyes The Jetsons Animated Movie
Warner Bros is looking to revive a classic franchise once again. The studio is looking to make an animated feature on the classic Hanna-Barbera cartoon The Jetsons. Screenwriter Matt Lieberman is attached to write the script. Lieberman has recently written a Scooby-Doo animated movie for the company. Warner Bros owns the Hanna-Barbera library after it was originally purchased by Ted Turner who later sold his company to the studio.
The Jetsons is the story of George Jetson and his wife Jane who live in a futuristic world. The couple have to children, Judy and Elroy and a dog named Astro. They also have a robotic maid/house keeper named Rosie. George works for Spacely Space Sprockets, a company that makes sprockets and whose biggest competition is Cogswell Cogs. Though it had a futuristic setting, most of the storylines followed classic family sitcom plots.
There had been rumors that a live-action version was in the works and Kayne West was attached in some way… but that seems to have nothing to do with the new animated project.
