WETA Featurette For Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes
WETA's work on the special effects of Dawn of the Planet of the Apes are the focus of the newest featurette release for the Matt Reeves sequel.
Technology really has come a long way, even just since Rise of the Planet of the Apes, and that's evident in everything from the motion capture suits the actors wear to the wireless cameras positioned everywhere.
The difficulties of shooting green screen in a forest and accurately portraying wet ape fur are discussed and are things no average movie goer would ever even think about. This is why WETA gets paid the big bucks I guess.
