Rosario Dawson Talks About Narrating Andy Weir's Artemis
We are less than a week away from the release of Andy Weir's highly anticipated follow-up to The Martian. Artemis debuts November 14th and features what is being called one of the strongest female lead characters in the upcoming sci-fi/heist story. To go with the novel's release is an Audible Studios recording with fan-favorite actress Rosario Dawson narrating. Dawson sits down to talk about the book in a behind-the-scenes video below.
Synopsis: Artemis is a crime caper that features smart, detailed world-building based on real science. The lead character, Jasmine Bashara, aka Jazz, is just another too-smart, devil-may-care twentysomething chafing at the constraints of her small town and dreaming of a better life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon. Life on Artemis is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down. But pulling off the impossible is just the start of her problems, as she learns that she's stepped square into a conspiracy for control of Artemis itself – and her only chance at survival lies in a gambit even riskier than the first. Andy Weir's near-future, fast paced thriller, Artemis performed by the inimitable Rosario Dawson is now exclusively available for pre-order at www.audible.com/artemis, set to release next week on Nov. 14th!
The novel has already been optioned for film with Phil Lord and Christopher Miller attached to direct.
