5 Things to Watch on TV Today – January 6th, 2018

It's a pretty quiet night for television — unless you're looking for something a bit outside the box. It's Wild Card Weekend, so NFL fans have two games to watch, with the first one being on in the afternoon. There's a biopic produced by one of the two people it's about, the end of one series, and the start of another's second season. The rest of the time you've got some reruns, including a report of the Chance the Rapper-hosted episode of Saturday Night Live.

10 Days in the Valley

The first game of the day starts at 4:20 p.m. EST on ESPN and features the Tennessee Titans at the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs won their division with a 10-6 record, but it wasn't pretty. After starting the season with five straight wins, they lost six of their next seven only to end the season with four wins straight. Tennessee had an 8-4 record before losing 3 of the last 4 and ending up 9-7, getting in on a Wild Card. The Chiefs would be the favorite with home field advantage.

The second game is at 8:15 p.m. EST on NBC as last year's Super Bowl-losing Atlanta Falcons head to California to take on the Los Angeles Rams. The Rams have been on of the surprising teams of the season with their new coach, Sean McVay, leading them to an 11-5 record. The Falcons were the favorite in the NFC South going into the season but stumbled, coming in third after both the Saints and the Panthers. But their 10-6 record still got them the final wild card slot. The Rams have been playing better this season, but the Falcons have more experience in the playoffs, leading this to be a pretty evenly matched game.

If sports is not your thing, over on Lifetime at 8 p.m. is A Tale of Two Coreys — a biopic produced by Corey Feldman and chronicling the impact that fame, fortune, and abuse had on him and the late Corey Haim. They've cast actors to play both the teenaged Coreys and the adult Coreys.

Starting at 9 p.m. on ABC, the network is burning off the finale two episode of Ten Days in the Valley. The series has essentially been canceled. The series wraps up when Jane is put in danger when the kidnapper's identity is discovered; Bird's ongoing investigation leads to a shocking confrontation. The series stars Kyra Sedgwick, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, and Erika Christensen.

And finally, at 10 p.m. on USA we get the season two premiere of Falling Water. Tess, Taka, and Burton find it impossible to move on with their lives; James makes Tess aware of a dangerous new enemy known as Shadowman. The series stars David Ajala, Lizzie Brocheré, and Will Yun Lee.
