Cody Who? AEW Reassures Shaken Fanbase with This Week's Dynamite

With news this week that one of the co-creators of All Elite Wrestling, Cody Rhodes, has left the company and is seemingly headed back to WWE, the AEW fanbase was feeling a bit anxious heading into last night's episode of AEW Dynamite. If ever AEW needed to hit a home run and deliver a solid show that reminds everyone what makes the company special, it was this week. And that's just what they did. And The Chadster is so majorly cheesed off about it, he spent the next three hours after the show aired chugging White Claw seltzers in the garage while crying into the steering wheel of his Mazda Miata! Dang you, Tony Khan! Dang you to heck!

Cody Who? AEW Reassures Shaken Fanbase with Dynamite This Week

From the opening promo, which saw CM Punk challenge MJF to a dog collar match at evolution, to the main event, in which Sammy Guevara and Darby Allin brought down the house in a TNT Championship match building to a future match with Andrade involved, AEW Dynamite last night hit all the right notes to assure worried fans that AEW will be just fine without Cody Rhodes. And in The Chadster's opinion, that's just so disrespectful and really steals WWE's thunder. Auugh man! So unfair!

Other notable highlights from AEW Dynamite this week included Thunder Rosa coming out on top of Mercedes Martinez in a hard-hitting match that ended with a beatdown of Martinez by Britt Baker's squad after Martinez showed too much respect to Rosa after the match. Chris Jericho and Jake Hager lost their Inner Circle match against Proud and Powerful, freeing up Santana and Ortiz to chase the tag team championships and setting up a match between Jericho and Eddie Kingston. And in what could be the second-best storyline in wrestling right now (behind Happy Corbin and Madcap Moss), Bryan Danielson put on a wrestling classic with Lee Moriarity and, afterward, Jon Moxley came out to cut a promo recounting their history together and teasing that he might accept Danielson's offer of teaming up… but not before they bleed together in a match at Revolution.

Before AEW Dynamite started, The Chadster was happier than he's been since 2019. Were the wheels finally starting to come off AEW? Was it time for The Chadster's beloved WWE, backed by Cody Rhodes, to ascend back to the top of the wrestling world not only in ratings but in love from the fans? Would The Chadster finally overcome his sexual impotence and be able to have sexual intercourse with his wife, Keighleyanne, again? But Tony Khan just couldn't let The Chadster be happy, not even just for one day, and so he delivered a great episode of Dynamite instead. Thanks a lot, Tony Khan!
