When we last saw Matt Murdock aka Daredevil him and Elektra were about to get buried by a collapsing building in The Defenders. Matt has told Danny Ran aka Iron Fist to take over as protector of the city and Matt and Elektra embrace as they are about to die together. Then, at the very end of the series, we see a still alive Matt in a convent and we've heard nothing since.
We've known for a long time that a third season of Daredevil was on the way. We got this announcement during the Luke Cage pane at San Diego Comic Con back in 2016.
Things have finally started to pick up and it has been revealed that at the end of Iron Fist season 2 there is a short teaser for the third season of Daredevil. It isn't much but Matt is sitting in a confessional and seems to have had a change of heart when it comes to his beliefs.
"I once believed that justice could be found in a court of law, and in the light of day. But I was fooling myself," he says in what appears to the black season one outfit. "Darkness only responds to darkness. And the thing is, I'd rather die as the Devil than live as Matt Murdock."
Sounds like the Devil of Hell's Kitchen is looking to embrace everything that comes with being the devil. Here is an unofficial version of the teaser. We'll post an official version once Marvel or Netflix releases one.
Summary: After the events of the Hand and the destruction of the building Daredevil will have to protect his city once more.
Daredevil, with Erik Oleson as the showrunner, stars Charlie Cox, Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson, Vincent D'Onofrio, Wilson Bethel, Jay Ali, and Joanne Whaley. It will stream to Netflix sometime in 2018.
