'Into the Badlands' S03, Ep16: The End Comes as "Seven Strike as One" (PREVIEW)

Into the Badlands is one of those shows that I think is leaving this world far too soon. Unlike other shows on TV, Badlands still has plenty of mileage that could be covered before the series grows stale, with engaging characters and a compelling world that's just begging for more time.

Sadly, that won't be the case. Into the Badlands takes its final curtain on Monday, May 6th on AMC. The last episode is titled "Seven Strike as One", which is about as iconic a title this crazy little show could have for a last bow.

Sunny (Daniel Wu), Bajie (Nick Frost), the Widow (Emily Beecham), Nathaniel Moon (Sherman Augustus), Tilda (Ally Ioannides)Gaius Chau (Lewis Tan), and Kannin (Eugenia Yuan) have teemed up, and they're bringing the fight directly to Pilgrim  (Babou Ceesay).

The fight will be pretty dire for the seven defenders of the Badlands, but the fight is far from hopeless- Sunny and his band killed the leader of the Black Lotus, and they have an army of soldiers trained in fighting warriors like those that fight under Pilgrim's banner.

Pilgrim has issues of his own that he's failing to see due to his megalomania after inheriting the Gift. He hasn't had any training in how to use his powers, and has been increasingly delusional about becoming a god. That doesn't bode well for a man with aspirations of world domination, especially with dissent growing in the ranks.

M.K. (Aramis Knight) is still a believer, but at some point he'll find out about Nix's brutal murder, which may not sit well with him. Cressida (Lorraine Toussaint) is also starting to have doubts, especially after one of her visions showed her the hellscape Pilgrim will leave the world.

There's a lot to wrap up, and only an hour to do it. How much kung-fu can an hour of television handle? will Sunny and the Widow get their Gifts back? Will M.K. keep being a punk?

We'll find out on Monday, May 6th, when "Seven Strike as One" hits on AMC.
