'Into the Badlands' S3, Ep13: It's a Showdown Between "Black Lotus, White Rose" (PREVIEW)
Warning: There will be copious spoilers for this season of AMC's Into the Badlands throughout this article. If you'e not caught up, do yourself a favor and marathon all of season 1 and 2 on Netflix. Mostly just because I want more people to nerd out about this show with.
Okay? Ready to talk some Badlands?
At this point, I bet Sunny (Daniel Wu) wishes he had just stayed in bed. Our favorite ex-Clipper's mission to learn Ankara's (Clare Higgins) secret to defeating Pilgrim (Babou Ceesay) was a failure: Bajie might just be dead, Ankara is gone, and Sunny's a prisoner of the Black Lotus.
Considering how things went for the Master (Chipo Chung) back at the Monastery, though, Sunny might just be having the better day. The Master was beat to a pulp by Pilgrim, and her secrets have been brought to light. An entire army of former initiates with the Dark Gift have been revived by Pilgrim, and now he has plans for the Badlands.
But, the Badlands may not be as easy a conquest as he thinks. The Widow Minerva (Emily Beecham) just defeated Baron Chau (Eleanor Matsuura), and may be close to uniting the Badlands under a single banner. And she's just the person to do it, too:
Now, it's a race against time as the Widow tries to end the civil war that's ripping the Badlands in half, Pilgrim's army grows, and the Black Lotus tries to eradicate the Dark Gift.
Tune in Monday, April 22nd for "Black Lotus, White Rose", here's a glimpse at all the kung-fury:
There's also an extended look at M.K.'s upcoming confrontation with the Master:
