Actress Emma Stone is always up for a challenge, not only on the big screen but also as a Jeopardy! superfan. As she would have access to the easier version with her peers in Celebrity Jeopardy, the Oscar winner is having none of that, wanting to compete on the regular show, which is harder to get in with the more difficult questions admitting to Variety she "applies every June" and watches the show "every single night and I mark down how many answers I get right." This caught the eye of host Ken Jennings, who appeared on Live With Kelly and Mark.
Emma Stone Wants to Live the True 'Jeopardy' Dream
"Yeah, she says she wants to be on, and she doesn't want to be on [Celebrity Jeopardy]," Jennings told hosts Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos. "She wants to be on real, original-recipe Jeopardy. I mean, that's a hard show. We would take her in a heartbeat." Ripa followed up if an exception could be made for Stone to be bumped to the front of the contestant line. "No, I think she would have to go through the same tests," he said of Stone's Jeopardy chances. "Our viewers can, if they want to be on the show, they can try out from home. You can take a test online and then do a Zoom audition. We no longer make people go to the mall or to a hotel to audition for the show."
Stone, who became a five-time Saturday Night Live host in a December 2023 episode, demonstrated her game show prowess in the sketch "Question Quest" with cast members Heidi Gardner and Punkie Johnson also playing contestants with Michael Longfellow playing the "host" with the prize caring for a tortoise. Stone currently stars in Searchlight's Poor Things, currently in theaters, and Showtime's The Curse, available on Paramount+.
