Miranda Richardson Joins Cast of 'Game of Thrones' Prequel Series

While we still know almost as much as Jon Snow [which is next to nothing] about the HBO Game of Thrones prequel television series, we DO know who else just joined the cast.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Miranda Richardson (Merlin, The Crying Game, The Phantom of the Opera, and the Harry Potter series) will be playing….someone….on the series.

We really do mean it when we say we know very, very little about the possible story/plot, as HBO doesn't even have a title yet.

We DO know that the jist is for this prequel series to take place roughly a thousand years (if not longer) before the events of George R. R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire, aka Game of Thrones.

Reportedly, we'll see the "world's descent from the Golden Age of Heroes into its darkest hour. And only one thing is for sure: from the horrifying secrets of Westeros's history to the true origin of the white walkers, the mysteries of the East to the Starks of legend".

S.J. Clarkson will be directing the pilot episode, which will feature Naomi Watts, Josh Whitehouse, Naomi Ackie, Denise Gough, Jamie Campbell Bower, Sheila Atim, Ivanno Jeremiah, Georgie Henley, Alex Sharp, and Toby Regbo.

We'll let you know what we hear about the series. Game of Thrones returns to HBO on April 14th, 2019.
