'Preacher' Season 4: Wait… The Saint of Killers and Herr Starr Share a Dressing Room?!?
When we last left The Saint of Killers (Graham McTavish), he was marching out of Hell and heading straight for a showdown with Jesse (Dominic Cooper), Tulip (Ruth Negga), and Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun). Doing his best Lone Wolf and Cub homage with a still-brooding-over-being-in-Hell-for-no-reason Arseface (Ian Colletti) in tow, The Saint is looking to engage in a high-body-count airing of grievances – and if even Satan himself couldn't stop the cursed gunslinger, what chance does even a Genesis-fueled Jesse have?
While it's safe to say that fans of AMC's Preacher have a bit longer to wait before a season 4 debut, the network and cast are slowly revving the production engines. With a large amount of the upcoming season's production taking place in Australia, McTavish was kind enough to take a moment from shooting "Down Under" to signal that filming was underway – and that apparently The Saint and Herr Starr (Pip Torrens) share a dressing room???
The update follows yesterday's news that actor/musician Tyson Ritter to series regular when the series returns later this year for its fourth season. The frontman for The All American Rejects will reprise his dual role of Jesus Christ and modern messiah-wannabe Humperdoo, previously appearing in five episodes in a recurring role.
PREACHER is a dramatic thrill ride that follows West Texas preacher Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper), his badass girlfriend Tulip (Academy Award nominee Ruth Negga) and an Irish vampire named Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun) as they embark on a road trip to find God and are thrust into a twisted battle spanning Heaven, Hell and everywhere in between.
The 10-episode third season follows Jesse's quest for God which takes him back to the place he's been avoiding his whole life: home. Jesse, Tulip and Cassidy return to Angelville, the Louisiana Plantation where Jesse was raised, and find old grudges and deadly obligations await them. With the help of his friends — and a few enemies — Jesse will need to escape his past…because the future of the world depends on it.
Based on the DC Comics/Vertigo comic book series from Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon, Preacher follows West Texas preacher Jesse Custer, his badass ex-girlfriend Tulip, and an Irish vampire named Cassidy as they embark on a road trip to find God and are thrust into a twisted battle spanning Heaven, Hell and everywhere in between. Cooper, Negga, Gilgun, McTavish, Coletti, and Torrens are joined by Julie Ann Emery, and Noah Taylor.
Preacher is a co-production between Sony Pictures Television and AMC Studios, and developed for television by Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and series showrunner Sam Catlin. Catlin, Rogen, Goldberg and James Weaver executive produce for Point Grey Pictures. Original Film's Neal H. Moritz and Ori Marmur and Vivian Cannon, Jason Netter, Michael Slovis, Mark McNair, and Ken F. Levin also serve as executive producers.
