"Prodigal Son" Season 1 "Wait & Hope": Dr. Whitly aka "The Surgeon", At Your Service! [PREVIEW]
FOX's crime procedural/serial killer thriller Prodigal Son is back – and for those of you who've been following Bleeding Cool's resident show expert Margo Staten's review of the season know, Malcolm Bright (Tom Payne)
Which brings us to this week's episode "Wait & Hope", which Staten previewed for us over the weekend – but FOX has been kind enough to release a new preview. Well, maybe not so much a "preview" as a mini-profile of Dr. Whitly aka "The Surgeon" (Michael Sheen) – which considering the role he plays in this week's outing, catching up with "The Surgeon" seems pretty vital:
"Prodigal Son" season 1, episode 13 "Wait & Hope": Malcolm takes a detour from his mandated vacation time when he finds out a killer on the loose is mimicking homicides from one his favorite children's books, "The Count of Monte Cristo." With added help from a very excited Martin Whitly, the NYPD trace the case back to a high society family planning one of the biggest weddings of the season, so Malcolm and Dani get dressed up to attend the event and track down their culprit. Meanwhile, Jessica scores an invite herself and is eager to make her return to the New York elite
Stemming from Emmy Award-nominated executive producers Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter (Riverdale, The Flash) and writers Chris Fedak (Deception, Chuck) and Sam Sklaver (Deception, Bored to Death), the series stars Payne (The Walking Dead), Emmy Award and Golden Globe nominee Sheen (Masters of Sex, Frost/Nixon), Young (Scandal), Emmy Award and Golden Globe nominee Lou Diamond Phillips (Longmire, Stand and Deliver), Halston Sage (The Orville), Perrineau (The Carmichael Show), Frank Harts (The Path), and Keiko Agena (Dirty John).
FOX's Prodigal Son airs Monday nights at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
