Speaking of Jobbers, Hardcore Holly Has Advice for Dolph Ziggler

WWE legend Hardcore Holly appeared on WWE's The Bump podcast on Sunday ahead of The Horror Show at Extreme Rules. In the course of a discussion of his career, Holly talked about his time in the stable The Job Squad alongside Al Snow and Gillberg. According to Holly, even tough the gimmick seems derogatory, he enjoyed his time in the Squad.

"The Job Squad was my catalyst into Hardcore Holly," Holly said. "As far as the Job Squad, it was fun because you never knew what it was gonna do night by night. The storylines, I thought, were pretty good, and actually, I give Al credit again. He's the one that came up with most of the ideas for the Job Squad, and Al is the one who came up with The Job Squad. So I credit Al for that, and that was another lifeline for Bob Holly. I had no idea where I was going as a character, so when they came up with that concept, I was happy about that. In the wrestling business, if you're not in storylines, you just get lost in the shuffle."

Speaking of jobbers, Holly was asked about any advice he might have for Dolph Ziggler in his match against Drew McIntyre for the WWE Championship at Extreme Rules. Holly was involved in a world title match against a similarly physically-dominant opponent in Brock Lesnar back in 2004 at the Royal Rumble.

"I absolutely loved working with Brock," Holly said. "I loved the physical, hardstyle him, and I did,  the hard-hitting we did. And Brock is an amazing human being."

And just like Hardcore Holly lost that match in 2004, we all know Dolph Ziggler is losing tonight. But Holly had some advice nonetheless.

"As far as Dolph Ziggler's match tonight, let me say one thing about Dolph," said Holly. "I think he's one of the most talented athletes ever in the professional wrestling business. Right now, to me, in my humble opinion, he is the absolute best. There's no denying his talent, his abilities in the ring. Everything about him is money. Dolph Ziggler, to me, I'm a huge fan of Dolph, and I can't give him any advice because Dolph Ziggler has everything it takes to become world champion. All he has to do is go out there and get it done tonight. The thing is, with Dolph, in my opinion, I think he should have been the world champion several times over already."

That seems to be a position supported by one of Hardcore Holly's contemporaries, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson as well. It's still not gonna happen, though.
