Supergirl Season 3: Synopsis for 'Shelter from the Storm'
We found out last week that the 18th episode of Supergirl season 3 was going to be called 'Shelter from the Storm' and was going to feature the return of Patricia (Betty Buckley), Sam's mother, and that she would be trying to help them stop Reign (Odette Annable). But an official synopsis makes things sound a bit more desperate as we find out who Reign is searching for and that Patricia may have some more shocking news. Spoilers ahead.
Here is the synopsis for 'Shelter from the Storm':
REIGN SETS HER SIGHTS ON RUBY – When Reign (Odette Annable) starts hunting Ruby (guest star Emma Tremblay), Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) and Alex (Chyler Leigh) work together to keep her safe. Supergirl and J'onn (David Harewood) look to Sam's mother (guest star Betty Buckley) for advice on how to stop Reign and come away with some shocking news. Antonio Negret directed the episode with story by Robert Rovner and teleplay by Lindsay Gelfand & Allison Weintraub (#318). Original airdate 5/14/2018.
Having Reign take on bad guys and Supergirl was one thing, but having her hunting Ruby really ups the stakes of things. And in a season where we see Sam learn who she really is, what shocking news could Patricia have left? That may be the most interesting part of the synopsis.
Supergirl airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on the CW. Shelter from the Storm airs May 14th.
