Whatever. Trump Didn't Want to Go on Joe Rogan's Stupid Podcast Anyway
In terms of Joe Rogan, Donald Trump has become that friend who tells you they've moved on but still checks their phone for a DM from their ex.
Podcast host, UFC sound maker, and ninth funniest person on NewsRadio, Joe Rogan, has had a weird relationship with ex-reality show host, multi-impeached ex-POTUS, and convicted felon Donald Trump and his followers. Over the past few years, the Trumpettes have been on Rogan about having Trump on his show – and yet, it hasn't happened. It's not like the two haven't engaged in a mass media form of passing notes to Study Hall in the past. Things didn't get better last month when Rogan seemingly offered – and then moonwalked back – an endorsement of Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. for POTUS. And then, things took yet another turn when RFK, Jr. suspended his campaign and urged his several dozen supporters to back Trump (even though RFK, Jr. might not be able to get his name off the ballot in several key states). Awkward!
Well, it looks like Trump is back to passing notes to Rogan via the media, addressing the troubled waters between the two with Lex Fridman on the latter's podcast. After rehashing what had gone down before, Fridman shared that he thought it would be great if Trump guested on Rogan's show and wondered what the deal was with the tension between them. "Well, I don't think there was any tension. And I've always liked him, but I don't know him. I only see him when I walk into the [UFC] arena with Dana and I shake his hand. I see him there, and I think he's good at what he does."
As for having an on-air one-on-one with Rogan, Trump noted that he would be open to doing it – but only if Rogan asks nicely. "I don't know about doing his podcast. I mean, I guess I'd do it, but I haven't been asked, and I'm not asking them, you know, I'm not asking anybody," he added. When Fridman suggested that it sounded like the two sides appeared to be at a "negotiation" stage, Trump pushed back, responding, "No, it's not really a negotiation. And he's sort of a liberal guy I guess, you know, from what I understand. But he likes Kennedy. This was before I found this out – before Kennedy came in with us."
