Is This The First Graphic Novelist Killer?

Jed Waits of Ellensburg, Washington was shot and killed by police yesterday morning after the shooting of Tacoma teacher Jennifer Paulson on her way in to work. This tragedy was the accumulation of stalking behaviour and Waits was arrested for breaching a restraining order the previous week.

Waits was also, it seems, a frustrated comic book writer/artist with his A Captain's Tale still online and availble for order.

It's hard not to read through the pages and see obsession in the tiny dots, shading or repetitive patterns, with the Captain going on a joutney through doors, corridors, steps and walls with lines such as;

Our travails compel us further still unknown passage into this heart of darkness narrow catacombs complete with perilous traps grotesque manifestations of child-like fantasy a devilish world unfolds.

News sites have started picking up on this aspect of the case. Expect a lot more to come. It's been a long time since Greg Brooks.
