IDW Switches From Diamond To Random House For Bookstore Sales
In 2013, Dark Horse Comics moved their bookstore distribution contract from Diamond Book Distributors to Penguin Random House.
I understand it worked out rather well for them, and they have seen a considerable rise in sales since.
This left Diamond Book Distributors with IDW and Image Comics as their big accounts.
Well, now it's Image Comics, as IDW is making the same move as Dark Horse did three years ago.
The agreement will begin from April 2017. This won't affect their distribution in comic stores, as IDW remains exclusive to Diamond Comic Distributors for the direct market.
We did point out a while ago that, at one stage, one in every two books distributed by Diamond Book Distributors was a volume of The Walking Dead. Looks like that figure is about to rise.
