Donnie Yen Will Star In Movie Adaptation Of Video Game Sleeping Dogs

Chinese actor and martial artist Donnie Yen is set to play lead character Wei Shen in a film adaptation of the 2012 GTA clone Sleeping Dogs from Original Film, one of the production companies behind the Fast and Furious movies. According to a report from Deadline, the Rogue One and Ip Man actor is such a big star in China that he was used in advertising for xXx: The Return of Xander Cage more prominently than Vin Diesel. With Hollywood always looking for new ways to compete in the lucrative Chinese box office, launching a movie set in Hong Kong and starring a bonafide Chinese star seems like a no-brainer. Well, as long as they don't touch on that pesky Hong Kong independence issue.
