Every Free Comic Book Day In London Seems To Involve The Mighty Boosh These Days
On my way into Free Comic Book Day with the kids, I saw a poster for Julian Barrett's new movie Mindhorn and I realised I wanted to see it more than Guardians Of The Galaxy. It also felt slightly coincidental as the last time I went to Free Comic Book Day I bumped into Julian with his kids at Gosh Comics.
He wasn't there today. But his fellow Boosh actor, also of The IT Crowd and a fine writer and director, Richard Ayoade, was, with his wife and co-star Lydia Fox and their kids, getting down with the drawing table that is always such a hit for the store.
Matt Berry, put next year in the diary now, okay?
He told me he was going to put on his best photo face. Anyway the kids enjoyed the drawing as much as they did the free comics…
…and the displays in the window, created live by cartoonists.
It drew quite a crowd, but there were lines everywhere, at Gosh Comics…
Orbital Comics…
Forbidden Planet…
Someone's getting a Hydra takeover… busy day!
We've gone to Russell Square to read comics and eat delicious bready things from Bread Ahead, just opened across the road from FP.
Tell us about your Free Comic Book Day! Here's what my kids got!
