Update: TJ Perkins Denies Rumor Vince McMahon Made Him Change His Name Out Of Hate For Perkins Restaurant

WWE Superstar TJ Perkins has responded to a rumor reported earlier today claiming that Vince McMahon forced Perkins to change his ring name to "TJP" because the WWE Chairman dislikes the restaurant chain Perkins. Though Vince's decision-making process is legendarily bizarre, it looks like it didn't come into play in this one. Perkins took to Twitter to reveal the true origin behind his name change:

Note that Perkins neither confirms nor denies McMahon's lack of affinity for the popular restaurant chain known for baked goods, breakfast, and other diner-like culinary options, just that it didn't factor into the decision to change his name.
