Dixie Carter Will Appear On WWE Network, Congratulates AJ Styles, Agrees With Matt Hardy

In what is surely a sign of the coming apocalypse, former TNA owner Dixie Carter will appear for the first time ever on WWE programming for a WWE 24 Kurt Angle special airing on the WWE Network after RAW on Monday. Carter, who "competed" for years with WWE while bankrolling TNA was forced out at the end of 2016 after a failed takeover attempt by Smashing Pumpkins vocalist Billy Corgan, leading to another investor, Anthem Sports and Entertainment, gaining control of the company. Anthem pushed Carter out, brought back former TNA co-founder Jeff Jarrett, and changed the company's name to GFW. Carter's new alliance with WWE looks like a case of "my enemy's enemy is my friend."

And one of Carter's first acts as a defector was to reach out to former TNA superstar Matt Hardy, himself currently involved in a feud with Anthem over the rights to the Broken gimmick, which has resulted in frequent public clashes between Hardy's wife, Reby Hardy, and various GFW officials. Carter agreed with Hardy in congratulating AJ Styles on his untelevised title win this weekend, which Hardy called "Delightful," a trademark of his Broken character.

There's no word of any more involvement between Carter and WWE beyond the Kurt Angle special, but if her appearance generates enough interest, WWE might offer her an on-screen role, surely shattering the internet in half. Though, if that does happen, Carter will probably blow it by trying to sneak Vince Russo into the building. Stay tuned.
