Matt Reeves Has Dropped Ben Affleck's Script For 'The Batman'
No smoke here. In a report posted by The Hollywood Reporter it looks like we're starting over when it comes to The Batman. They have reported that director Matt Reeves dropped Ben Affleck's Batman script, which the star worked on with Geoff Johns and Chris Terrio.
"No, it's a new story. It's just starting again. I'm excited about it. I think it's going to be really cool."
Reeves is currently making the rounds for War for the Planet of the Apes and has shared his vision for the movie a few times. It isn't that surprising that he would want to start over from scratch but this is the second DCEU movie where the script has been thrown completely out (the first one is The Flash).
If they really are starting from the beginning then the wait for this movie probably just got a lot longer. It's likely that we won't be seeing this movie until 2020 or maybe even later depending on other projects.
Affleck is set to appear with the rest of his Justice League co-stars in Warner Bros Hall H presentation on Saturday during Comic-Con International. Reeves has said that Affleck is going to play the role but he hasn't commented on whether or not Joe Manganiello as Deathstroke will be part of this new script.
Summary: Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman's selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy.
Justice League, directed by Zack Snyder, stars Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa, Ezra Miller, Ray Fisher. and Henry Cavill. It will be released on November 17th.
