Well, That Didn't Last Long: Rachel Might No Longer Be Called "Prestige" in 2018
When X-Men relaunched its main ongoing series as X-Men Gold earlier in the year as part of the ResurrXion relaunch, Rachel Summers/Rachel Grey, previously known as Phoenix, was renamed. There were just too many challengers to that title. Instead she took the name Prestige. Named after a) the comic book format b) the disappointing magic movie or c) a hotel level of service one below Premium, it was never clear.
But in a listing for an upcoming collection X-Men Gold Vol. 6, we learn the following:
Kitty's X-Men and the Xavier Institute have some big changes on the way… Will they be able to keep their doors open? Meanwhile, Rachel Grey current codename "Prestige" might not fit anymore after her dark rebirth.
To be fair, she used it, like, a couple of times, before it was utterly ignored. Now it seems that writer Marc Guggenheim is looking to get rid of it all together.
Man, was she ever called Marvel Girl? If so, I totally missed that. I'm still confused that she went from Rachel Summers to Rachel Grey. Time for a lie down I think.
The listing for X-Men Blue Vol. 4 is a little more mundane:
After the X-Men's cross time capers and harrowing exploits in Mojo Worldwide, the team needs to regroup because what's in store for them is bigger and more daunting than ever!
Playing baseball again? That's the usual way…
