DC Comics Cancels Kyle Rayner Collections After Volume 2
In October 2017, DC Comics published its first Green Lantern: Kyle Rayner collection, with [easyazon_link identifier="1401276873" locale="US" tag="bleedingcoo07-20"]Volume 1[/easyazon_link] promising:
A new Green Lantern is born when freelance artist Kyle Rayner's awarded the last power ring! Hal Jordan has left the Corps in shambles after going rogue. Can a young, inexperienced Kyle Rayner possibly fill the legendary Lantern's shoes? Of course he can…but he'll do it with a style all his own! One of the great chapters in Green Lantern history is finally re-collected beginning here in GREEN LANTERN: KYLE RAYNER VOL. 1! The classic stories are a part of a new, re-cut graphic novel series, the first of which collects GREEN LANTERN #51-60, REBELS '94 #1, NEW TITANS #116 and GUY GARDNER: WARRIOR #27-28.
While in May 2018, they followed up with [easyazon_link identifier="B07CGF74ZK" locale="US" tag="bleedingcoo07-20"]Green Lantern: Kyle Rayner Vol. 2 (Green Lantern (1990-2004))[/easyazon_link]:
Unlike the Green Lanterns who preceded him on Earth and throughout the galaxy, Kyle Rayner was given no training or guidance in the use of his power ring. In this new collection, Kyle decides to seek the guidance of the greatest heroes alive the Flash, Batman, and Wonder Woman–only to find that he is already worthy of the–name hero. The classic stories are a part of a new, re-cut graphic novel series, including this volume that collects GREEN LANTERN #58-65, NEW TITANS #124-125, DARKSTARS #34, GUY GARDNER: WARRIOR #27-28 and DAMAGE #16.
With Volume 3[easyazon_link identifier="1401285716" locale="US" tag="bleedingcoo07-20"]Green Lantern: Kyle Rayner Vol. 3[/easyazon_link] planned for January 2019:
The third installment sees Kyle team up with the Flash, Wally West, to battle a new version of classic Green Lantern villain Sonar. John Stewart stops in for a visit, and Kyle sets out on a journey to learn from the legends of the DC Universe how to be a better hero. First stop…Gotham City. Collects Green Lantern #66-75 and Green Lantern Annual #4.
But no longer it seems. DC Comics has just cancelled the third volume. Sorry folks, you'll just have to be satisfied with the first two.
In other news, DC Comics has also just cancelled the Dennis O'Neil, Ed Hannigan, John Beatty collection Batman: Shaman but Bleeding Cool hears rumors of a more complete collection of the original Legends Of The Dark Knight series that Shaman was a part of…
