Finding Hope in Wednesday's Uncanny X-Men – the Make Mine Marvel! ECCC Panel
Some interesting tidbits from Saturday's Make Mine Marvel panel at the ECCC:
Writer Matthew Rosenberg's upcoming continuation of the original Marvel comics run of Star Wars, dubbed Star Wars #108 (due out in May), will feature among other things the return of Jaxxon the green rabbit.
We'll find out where Hope and Banshee have been in this Wednesday's Uncanny X-Men, said Rosenberg. Readers will also find out where Emma Frost, Mystique, and other characters have been lately.
Writer Gail Simone's going to have Iron Man fighting a dragon in a War of the Realms tie-in in May.
Rosenburg said that after the Punisher finishes up on Bagalia (AKA Bad Guy Island), he'll be headed back to New York and pairing up with characters we haven't seen in a while.
Writer Jim Zub said that things are going to get really bad for Miles in Champions before they get better. Like, so bad he had to call Bendis.
Rosenberg talked about some failed pitches that he keeps thinking about. One was a buddy-cop style team-up with a space man and a cave man, starring Quasar and Kazar as the title characters. The other was a Man-Thing/Multiple-Man mashup, called not Multiple-Man-Thing, but Man-Man. He's still waiting to hear back.
Rosenberg also mentioned (in response to a fan's question) that the law firm of Landau, Luckman, and Lake present and accounted for in the Marvel Universe, but that it definitely won't be brought back into any storylines any time soon, due (ironically) to legal concerns. Chris Claremont named them after real people, back when you could still get away with that kind of thing.
