HBO Max: Greg Berlanti Developing DCU's "Strange Adventures", Green Lantern Series; Elizabeth Banks Developing "DC Super Hero High"
As "The Great Streaming Wars of 2020" continues down the inevitable road toward full artificial intelligence and self-awareness (think Skynet), WarnerMedia took to livestream on Tuesday to introduce their "warrior" to the battle field: HBO Max. And what better way to introduce your new streaming service to the world then with some mind-blowing announcements?
The CW "Arrowverse" mastmind Greg Berlanti confirmed that he will be bringing Strange Adventures (first revealed here by Bleeding Cool) and a Green Lantern-based series to the new streamer; with Elizabeth Banks developing DC Super Hero High, focusing on our favorite heroes during their teenage high school years.
"Both of these original DC properties we'll be creating for HBO Max will be unlike anything seen on television. An anthology series of cautionary tales set in a world where superpowers exist, and, in what promises to be our biggest DC show ever made, we will be going to space with a Green Lantern television series, but I can't reveal any more about that just yet."

"HBO Max will bring together the diverse riches of WarnerMedia to create programming and user experiences not seen before in a streaming platform. HBO's world-class programming leads the way, the quality of which will be the guiding principle for our new array of Max Originals, our exciting acquisitions, and the very best of the Warner Bros. libraries, starting with the phenomenon that is 'Friends'. Under the leadership of two of the strongest creative visionaries — Casey Bloys (HBO) and Kevin Reilly (original content and acquisitions) — and two of the most experienced digital experts — Tony Goncalves and Andy Forssell — I have no doubt they and their dedicated teams will deliver the world's best storytelling to audiences of all ages wherever and whenever they want it."
– Robert Greenblatt, Chairman, WarnerMedia Entertainment and Direct-To-Consumer
HBO Max is WarnerMedia's direct-to-consumer offering debuting in spring 2020. With 10,000 hours of curated premium content anticipated at launch, HBO Max will offer powerhouse programming for everyone in the home, bringing together HBO, a robust slate of new original series, key third-party licensed programs and movies, and fan favorites from Warner Bros., New Line, DC, CNN, TNT, TBS, truTV, Turner Classic Movies, Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, Crunchyroll, Rooster Teeth, Looney Tunes, and more.
