SK-Poster-JamesGromanRondal Scott III writes,

What is a 'strange kid' you ask?

You are. Actually, we all have a little bit of strange kid in us… not literally of course, that would be weird and most likely uncomfortable, but metaphorically each of us still have that excitable inner child who yearns to get messy, make farts jokes and be mischievous.

When you have more than one strange kid working together, you've got a club – a Strange Kids Club. A collective melding of like-minded nerds, geeks and weirdos who still collect Garbage Pail Kids, still squirt milk out of their nose and who still have the same set of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle bed sheets… though we reserve those strictly for special occasions now.

TeddyRuxpin-HellraiserEvery club needs a mascot and ours just so happens to be the strangest kid of them all. So strange in fact, he only goes by the moniker: Strange Kid. The epitome of mischief, bad behavior and a devil-may-care attitude, Strange Kid can go anywhere and do anything that his twisted imagination can dream up. Surfing through space on the back of dolphins with Star Vikings? Done. Sailing the 'dark waters' on a pirate ship full of clowns? Did it. Raising the dead for a live action video game experience? Liked it so much he did it twice.

sk-toyThe Strange Kid Comics Magazine serves as a chronicling of all these crazy misadventures, too unbelievable for most normal minds to conceive. But then, the kind of people who contribute to the magazine are far from normal. In fact, most of the writers and illustrators who help bring the book to life are even stranger than me – and that's saying something! Take, for instance, our latest issue which features toy designer James Groman (Madballs, Barnyard Commandos), Benito Cereno (Hector Plasm, The Tick), Chris Savino (Kick Buttowski), Dean Rankine (MAD Magazine, Simpsons Comics) and so many more!

SK-PG7-GlenBroganIn this issue, just like the ones before them, these artists have come together to create a smorgasbord of strange – short comics, spoofs, parodies, fake ads – that ultimately weave a tale of toys gone bad. Not just bad… full out, someone call The Exorcist and Robocop for a team-up level of bad – and only Strange Kid and his pals can stop them. It's only fair considering that they're the ones who turned Teddy Ruxpin and the rest of the toys into vessels for Satan and his crew in the first place.

Of course, even strange kids can't live on cannolis and ramen forever and that's why this Kickstarter is so important to us. Not only does it allow us to reach new club members, like yourself, but it also ensures that our creators can keep Strange Kid alive and kicking until his next adventure. We know there's an audience out there for this stuff and we want to do everything we can to reach them whether they be co-workers, best friends or complete strangers. So unleash your inner strange kid – even if just for a little while – let him roam free and spread the word. Meanwhile, gird your loins for insane levels of awesomeness as Strange Kids Club takes over Kickstarter!
