Marvel Returns To Dominate Advance Reorders – But The Star Wars Makes It Three In A Row

Greetings from the coal face of the direct comics market. Where retailers try to increase their orders of certain comics ahead of sale. Where supply and demand and most accurately reflected, where you can see which books are hot, where new orders are coming in and how retailers are reacting to new, unanticipated desire!

The DC Villains Month titles have left the building as far as advance reorders go. And Marvel returns to dominate this chart, taking the top seven spots, with X-Men, Spider-Man, Infinity and that Iron Man issue that everyone will be talking about come October 16th. You know, on message boards I keep reading the allegation that Superior Spider-Man is dropping sales. But Superior Spider-Man is a regular member of this chart, retailers have to keeping upping their orders.

DC do get Sandman Overture in the charts, twice, the cover split likely reducing its position in the charts. But this gunning to be be the highest selling mature readers comic in the direct market since Superior Power.

Bleeding Cool talked up Letter 44 quite a lot earlier in the week which may have had an effect. But also the fact that it's only a fricking dollar.

DC places Forever Evil and Justice League titles, but one surprise are Dynamite titles, The Mocking Dead now onto its third print, as well as The Shadow #18. Honourable mention for Zero #2, with strong word on the sales of Zero #1.

But in the Reorder list for comics already shipped, as well as the remains of the DC Villains Month books, for the third week in a row, The Star Wars #1 takes top billing.

Oh and look. Sandman's back.
