Alan Moore's St Pancras Panda Hits eBay

$_12

Alan Moore did a many number of comics before he hit what is known as the "big time". And as Avatar Press announce details of his new series Providence, it's time to turn the clock back almost forty years to the late seventies.

And the underground newspaper Back-Street Bugle: Oxford's Other Paper, in which Alan Moore write and drew Paddington Bear parody The Adventures Of St Pancras Panda.

All thirteen strips are part of an eBay auction by Alan Moore scholar Pádraig Ó Méalóid,

It is probably not hyperbolic to suggest that this is a unique opportunity to own this early work by one of the most important creative talents of the late twentieth and early twenty-first centuries. These issues simply do not turn up, probably because there was a low print-run and circulation originally, and it was mostly about local current affairs (albeit from a strong left wing / hippie-ish perspective), and would simply have been discarded.

Currently the auction is nineteen bids strong at over £140 but there is still time for a lot more action.
