Apocalypse Girl Leads Amigo Comics' Lineup For September 2017 Solicitations
Amigo Comics' lineup for September 2017 includes Apocalypse Girl, a new series by El Torres of Rogues!, Nancy In Hell and Westwood Witches and Ramiro Borrallo. It follows the adventures (and misadventures) of an everyday young girl…in the middle of the End of the World.
Spotlighted in Diamond Previews, it's out in September.
Most common teenage issues include low self-esteem, stress, dating, appearance, and those worries and teen angst that won't go away. Metis is 16, has all these problems, and more. Because, on top of that, the End of the World happened and she has to cope with bloodthirsty demons and a 4,000-years old, critical, undead mom!
Torres says of the comic:
"It's not a sad-survivalist story. It's not the story of a Chosen One destined to restore the equilibrium or the goodness, or to kill a Big Bad. It's just the story of a common girl with all the common girl problems. Well, the catch is she's in a middle-apocalyptic set, and her mom is a mummy — or that's what Metis thinks — so the story is not only the everyday fight of every young person to find their place in the world. Well, it's just that, but with monsters."
It shares Amigo Comics' spot in Diamond Previews with a couple of other titles, too:
The Last Hunt #4
Story: Hannu Kesola
Art: Paul Moore
Colors: Beth Varni
It all comes down to this: the thrilling conclusion to the hit, blood and oh-so-many-guts, sci-fi miniseries. Witchcraft and evilness can thrive in the cold, empty space, on a desolated and wasted Earth. As The Last Hunt ends, who will be the final ones standing, the hunters of the prey?
From the 17th Century to the age of space, The Last Hunt is a scary tale, plenty of action, where the characters try to survive and nothing is what it seems. A great read that you will want to polish off all in one go!
Planet of Daemons #4
Story: Kevin Gunstone
Artist: Paul Moore
Colors: Stefan Mrkonjic
In the labyrinth of Sathariel, Amos Deathridge faces the disturbing truth behind his arrival in the Qliphoth and the real identity of the Succubus Queen, Heinous. Shocking revelations that threaten to break his spirit before his showdown with Count Eligos, the daemon of war.
32 pgs, FC, $3.99
The Westwood Witches TP
Story: El Torres
Artist: Abel García, Ángel Hernández
Colors: Esther Sanz
Jack Kurtzberg is a successful writer of young witch romance bestsellers…and he hates it so much. Suffering from writer's block after the death of his dear brother, he decides to move back to his hometown, not knowing that his new neighbors are witches — the kind of demon-worshippers that would kill anyone who could disturb their dominion in Westwood.
This volume reprints the critically acclaimed horror miniseries The Westwood Witches, published by Amgo Comics, leading us into the extraordinaire story of a coven of beautiful, blood-thirsty witches hiding in plain sight and how their destinies are inextricably linked with Jack's.
