Blame It On Donald Duck
Brian J. Crowley writes,
When I was a little kid, I drew a picture of Donald Duck. My dad thought it was amazing. He showed it to his brother, an accomplished artist, who told my dad that I showed promise.
Little did I know that it was the beginning of my love of comics, characters, super heroes and science fiction. After spending a number of years working on the comics of others, I now finally have my own web comic — Hamster Rage.
Developing Hamster Rage has been a long and exciting journey. I learned to manage and design a website. I also learned to market myself, the website and the concept of Hamster Rage. The pitch when selling the first book was as simple as this:
I've taken Hamster Rage to a number of Comic Cons in the midwest where it has been well received. My characters recently appeared as backdrops in a couple of television productions (no, they don't pay you, but, hey, my comic appeared on TV).
So, why a hamster? As a kid I loved them (confession, I still do). Roosevelt, however, is no ordinary hamster. I think you will love him too and the other characters of Hamster Rage.
I have a lot of folks to thank for helping me bring Hamster Rage to you. I talked the ear off of my friend Ryan Browne and bought Spike Trotman's fantastic book.
I asked my friend Tim Seeley to write the forward and contribute covers. Steve Seeley, Jenny Frison, Hilary Barta, Gene Ha, Geof Darrow, Tony Akins, Jim Terry, Sean Dove, and many, many more all contributed pinups and covers to the book.
As an independent creator, I need your help. Please spread the word to your family, friends, co-workers and comic book fans. Take a look at the video below and share it with others.
Pledge here, and on behalf of MegaBabe, Roosevelt and the entire cast — thank you!
