And this is what they had to say.
A good week for DC–three book in our store's top ten (two Bat-books, one Justice League). One Image title, and the rest was Marvel—including TWO Doctor Strange books hitting the top ten!
Strong interest in Marvel Silver Age, particularly key issues and first appearances.
Nice to see DC with 3 of the top 5 books again – they've been having a tough time placing anything in the top 10 rack. Naturally it has to have BATMAN to place.
Don't read DR. STRANGE #7 first and then read the DR. STRANGE MAGIC SPECIAL. It's supposed to be the other way around. Too bad MARVEL is such a new company that they didn't know they should mark this as such on the covers or ,I don't know call me crazy, release the special this week and the regular issue next week. Would have solved that and given DR. STRANGE fans a dose two weeks in a row instead of all at once. It's so basic, yet they haven't mastered this in 50+ of publishing under the MARVEL banner…
DC finally came in on top for us, and all it took was two high profile Batman releases! Who would've known?
Seriously though, Batman and DK3 blew everything almost out of the water, with the exception of Star Wars. For indie books, really the only thing that made a splash this week were Saga and Sex Criminals, and Rick and Morty, which continues to be a major sleeper hit for us.
Walking Dead Negan run is still moving steadily, despite the show wrapping up weeks ago. Every issue from that story line is a mover!
And of course, Civil War back issues are still moving like mad. Just when I thought that people had their fill, more people come in for it!
Dark Knight drops to 3. Proof again that late shipping kills. Even from big names. (Not that Frank Miller can be fired or even chastised.)
Ending the month with the release of Batman 51, Dark Knight III issue 4, Star Wars 18, and Justice League 49 is a good way to end a month.
Three books passing the century mark this week. Dark Knight taking the top spot with Star Wars right on its heels. The rest of the books hovering around the mid 40 range which actually made it a great sales week.
Justice League Darkseid War selling in the store and on the "Bay" steadily. Wondering if i will have anything by the time Rebirth starts.
