Who had this to say,
DC gets four books in the Top Ten in a small, mediocre release week.
Slow week. Though somehow Batman blew out the doors and sold out already. Not sure if the coloring book was a big hit or what. Some people actually dropped Star Wars this week which stunned me since the latest movie is hardly a month old. Heck, I enjoyed the latest issue but still couldn't talk them out of dropping it. Deadpool fans are starting to notice and feel over whelmed by all the Deadpool material currently out.
Pretty healthy mix of titles for our top ten. Nice seeing Image titles like I Hate Fairyland and Tokyo Ghost playing with the big two, and it was a pleasant surprise to see Rick Remender's Devolution on the list as well. Perhaps it's a sign that our customers are sick of the books that Marvel and DC are putting out.
HOWEVER, it seems like the news of Bruce Wayne's return in Batman has helped bump that book up, since sales lowered considerably when "Chappie Batman" was the star.
Also worth noting that Captain Marvel's new #1 sold better than any issue of her old series did.
The price on Power Rangers right now is ridiculous. It appears that all of the stores getting their first printing reorders this week may find their cases shy the GREEN and WHITE ranger covers that were collated into the first shipments. Odd allocations from diamond on current invoices indicate this.
Okay it's official, Harley Quinn and Deadpool fans are the same person. Not only did they take the #1 and #2 spot this week, 97% of every sale had both titles in their stack. There has been a big change in spending habits this year, as well. Average sale has risen and the crowds are getting younger. Variants have been selling out in one day and not the whole 7 day cycle. Everyday, we have to reset the floor and keep our team more informed of new trends. Its a Great time to be a store owner.
