Blood Hunt Readers Probably Need To Pick Up The Black Panther Tie-In

The Black Panther: Blood Hunt tie-in series looks at the history of vampires in Wakanda, and it turns out that is very important indeed.

Article Summary

  • "Black Panther: Blood Hunt" tie-in is crucial for the main series fans.
  • Wakanda's vampire history to impact future "Blood Hunt" issues.
  • Farid Karami's art shines in Black Panther's vampiric tale.
  • Issues are selling out - a second printing for the first issue imminent.

When running the Blood Hunt coverage at Bleeding Cool, the Black Panther: Blood Hunt tie-in series didn't seem to tie in with the rest of the Blood Hunt series as much as the others did. Black Panther had been turned by Blade in the main series, but in his own book, it seemed more an excuse to look at the history of vampires in Wakanda, and how his ancestors would regard T'Challa's new status as a vampire heir to the legacy of the Black Panther. Things had been found in Wakanda that would have some turning points in the main series, but that seemed to be being handled in the main series. So some decided, yeah, Blood Hunt is expensive enough, especially with the extra dollar for the extra bloodiness and exposition, that maybe they could sit the Black Panther: Blood Hunt series out.

Turns out that was wrong. Bleeding Cool gets the nod that it may be more important to Blood Hunt than any of the other spinoff series and indeed as important as the main book. That the history of vampires in Blood Hunt is going to play a major part in issues of Blood Hunt to come. And maybe it might be an idea to pick up the first two issues, if you can find them. And the third and final issue in a couple of weeks.

Artist of the book Farid Karami posted "Black Panther: Blood Hunt 2 is OUT NOW! by @cheryllynneaton, @adalhouse and me. btw, it looks like the first issue has gone into second printing!" That hasn't been announced yet. Unless… that's the announcement. I will add it to the upcoming PrintWatch.
