BOOM! Announces Power Rangers Anniversary Special from Magdalene Visaggio, Joe Quinones, Sina Grace, and Marcus To

Though the blockbuster movie failed to live up to its potential commercial success, the Power Rangers thrive in comic books, and BOOM! Studios is expanding their Power Rangers offering to include a Power Rangers 25th Anniversary Special in June.

BOOM! promises superstar creators like Magdalene Visaggio, Joe Quinones, Sina Grace, Marcus To, and more in a press release for the oversized comic book which aims to "pay homage to the global phenomenon with original standalone stories set throughout the Power Rangers universe, including the original Ranger team from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, which premiered on August 28th, 1993, as well as other fan-favorite Ranger teams."

"The MIGHTY MORPHIN POWERS RANGERS ANNIVERSARY SPECIAL is a love letter to the characters and teams that have deeply affected so many lives around the world," said BOOM! editor Dafna Pleban in the obligatory press release quote. "From the Power Rangers: Shattered Grid comic book event to gorgeous variant covers to all-new collections, we're celebrating this historic anniversary all year long with our friends at Saban Brands!"

"25 years ago, Saban's Power Rangers burst onto the scene and instantly resonated with fans of all ages across the globe," said Power Rangers franchise exec Brian Casentini. "In addition to the show, we've been able to continue to create incredible, fresh experiences for fans, like this anniversary comic book special with amazing writers and the great team at BOOM Studios, to celebrate these aspirational yet relatable teen heroes who really inspire people."

No other word on what fans can expect from this book, but more should be revealed in next month's solicitations. Look for this in stores in June, with covers by Steve Morris, Rahzzah, and Joe Quinones.
