Brian Bolland Returns to Joker for Retailer Gift Edition of "Joker: Year of The Villain"

I saw the new Joker movie and what I do? I listed the comic book creators who got credited after the movie ended. One of them, presumably for his work on Batman: The Killing Joke, was Brian Bolland. More on that to come later, it seems. But, at the movie is to be released, DC Comics is publishing Joker: Year Of The Villain #1 by John Carpenter, Anthony Burch, Philip Tan, and Marc Deering in a week's time.

And certain comic book retailers will be getting a limited edition, free, of The Joker: Year of the Villain #1 Retailer Gift Variant Edition.

Brian Bolland Returns to Joker for Retailer Gift Edition of "Joker: Year of The Villain"

Featuring a new cover by Brian Bolland, this variant edition was created as a thank you to retailers who received the original versions of Superman #14 and Supergirl #33 and followed DC's instructions to destroy those issues and submit an affidavit of destruction.

Retailers who received the original versions of Superman #14 and Supergirl #33 and submitted an affidavit of destruction will receive free copies of The Joker: Year of the Villain #1 Retailer Gift Variant Edition in quantities equal to their FOC orders of Superman #14's main cover.

Retailers who received the original versions of Superman #14 and Supergirl #33 but did not submit an affidavit of destruction will receive one copy of The Joker: Year of the Villain #1 Retailer Gift Variant Edition per account.

As to those who didn't receive any copies because they were pulled before they reached store? No idea. And those who signed an affadavit and sold the original copies anyway for a premium on eBay? They'll be the ones who are laughing the most…

The Joker: Year of the Villain #1 is published by DC Comics on October 9th.
