Can You Help Keith Champagne Get Back To Work?

12940969_1468586811.4496 (1)Over the 4th of July weekend, our comic creator Keith Champagne lost his footing while helping his six-year old son descend from a summit in the White Mountains during a holiday camping trip with friends.

He badly fractured his left leg in two places. A nine hour rescue took place to get Keith off the mountain and to hospital, which was also filmed for an upcoming reality show on Animal Planet.

No pay, sadly, Which is shame as Keith could use the money. He has been almost completely immobilized since on doctor's orders while waiting for surgery to repair and reconstruct his leg. As a result he;s not only been able to walk or sit upright, but not work either. And surgery was delayed an additional week after his EKG indicated a diagnosis of Inferior Ischemia. A second EKG and clearance from a cardiologist

The surgery took place yesterday. He will then have a ten week rehabilitation and it will take a year for his leg to heal.

You can imagine the cost, Keith's insurance doesn't come close to covering it. So his friends have arranged a crowdfunding site to help costs, with signed comics as rewards, until Keith can work again.

$25 will receive a signed trade paperback, $50 will receive an exclusive Switch print from Champagne and Tom Nguyen created exclusively for this campaign. And $100 or above will receive a page of original comic book art from Keith's personal collection.

Keith also plans to run the October, 2017 Hartford Marathon. with a special shirt filled with the names of his donors to wear.

Can you join those helping him and his family out?
