Colin Baker Signing His Own Doctor Who Stories at Forbidden Planet London Today – The Target Storybook
Before there were videos, DVD, Blu-Rays or streaming, if you saw (or missed) an episode of Doctor Who, there was only one way to revisit it (or see it in the first place) and that was with the BBC Target novelisations of each story. And for someone who joined with late Jon Pertwee, it was the only way I could experience earlier Doctor Who episodes, save for the rarest of rare repeats. And we're now getting a fun update of those original books for a modern audience
Colin Baker, Vinay Patel, Beverly Sanford, and Joy Wilkinson will be signing Doctor Who: The Target Storybook at Forbidden Planet Megastore on Shaftesbury Avenue, London, today from 6 to 7pm.
A collection of all-new stories spinning off from some of your favourite Doctor Who adventures across the history of the series. Learn what happened next, what went on before, and what occurred off-screen in an inventive selection of sequels, side-trips, foreshadowings and first-hand accounts – and also look forward in time, with a brand new adventure for the Thirteenth Doctor.
Each story expands in thrilling ways upon aspects of Doctor Who's enduring legend. The book collects fifteen all-new adventures, with contributions from show luminaries past and present – including Colin Baker, Matthew Waterhouse, Mike Tucker, Joy Wilkinson, and Vinay Patel – and bestselling writers such as Jenny T. Colgan, Jacqueline Rayner, Una McCormack, Steve Cole and George Mann.
Colin Baker played the Doctor in Doctor Who on the TV from 1984 to 1986, has written Doctor Who comics and short stories and currently reprises the role for Big Finish Productions. Vinay Patel wrote Doctor Who: Demons of the Punjab from 2018, Beverly Sanford is a novelist and BBC Writer's Room semi-finalist, Joy Wilkinson wrote Doctor Who: The Witchfinders and they all have stories in The Target Storybook.
