Comic Shops Asked to Destroy Gideon Falls Vol 4 TPB Over Misprint

Gideon Falls is an ongoing horror comic book created by writer Jeff Lemire and artist Andrea Sorrentino, published by Image Comics, and collected into volumes. Intended to be an intelligent horror story, not one driven by gore, but by exploring the nature of evil. Its lead, Norton Sinclair is based off a character Lemire originally created in 1996 for a short film during film school in Toronto. It garnered added attention when it was picked up for a television series by Hivemind Productions in June 2018.

Yesterday, however, the publication of the fourth collected volume hit a snag. It turned out that the pages for Gideon Falls #21, the concluding chapter of the collection, had been printed without lettering. As a result, Image Comics has instructed retailers to destroy all copies of the collection and wait for replacement copies to arrive.

Has that ever happened? Will this letterless Gideon Falls suddenly become a surprise pulped misprint collectable? Or might readers do a Jude Terror Improbably Previews special and start lettering the comic book pages themselves? Either way, Image Comics tells retailers that they will be back in touch with news as to when the replacement copies will arrive. Readers who bought copies may need to talk to their supplier.
