Outkast, the New Villain for Crisis on Infinite Earths in the Arrowverse! Spoilers for Crisis on Infinite Earths Giant #1
Almost 35 years later the CW has brought Crisis on Infinite Earths to our television screens, and in addition to that DC Comics will bring us two issues of Crisis on Infinite Earths Giant. In the first issue we've gotten the start of two tales attempting to weave into the crossover as a whole. Besides giving fans Felicty Smoak and Kid Flash appearances we aren't getting in the main crossover
we get a new character in the form of Outkast.
So who is Outkast? Another multiverse version of Harrison Wells, this time he's the anti-matter version of Nash Wells, Pariah in the Arrowverse version of the Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover.
There is a great irony here as we get the opposite of Pariah, who gains strength from the Earth's dying
and in essence, like his opposite, is a herald of the oncoming death of a Earth targeted by the Anti-Monitor.
Outkast however is a servant for the Anti-Montior (a great irony considering Nash Wells first sought out the Monitor, to only release the Anti-Monitor).
Now each time Marv Wolfman has revisited Crisis, such as in the novel version of the story, and in the DC Legends one shot from 1999, he has introduced new elements to the crossover. In the novel he told the story from Barry Allen's POV, giving the story a stronger narrative, and going more in-depth in Barry's past. For the Legends one-shot he introduced Earth-D, shown again in this first issue of Crisis on Infinite Earths Giant. So for Crisis on Infinite Earths Giant #1 we are given a new character, set to a counterbalance to Pariah and be another villain for the series.
However, Pariah is not a herald for the Monitor like Outkast is for the Anti-Monitor. Also why does Pariah have an anti-matter version, when none of the other characters do? Was he created by the Anti-Montior? Are there other anti-matter duplicates? Hopefully Crisis on Infinite Earths Giant #2 will answer these questions and give more depth to the new addition to Crisis on Infinite Earths epic.
